I haven’t got a complex rating, what can I do?
I can organise your training for you.  It will take between 5 and 10 hours depending on your ability.  The training can be done at either Cambridge or Sywell, or if you prefer your own instructor, you are welcome to take the plane to your aerodrome with your instructor and do your rating at somewhere more convenient for you.

I do not yet have 150 hours total time.  Can I still hire your aircraft?
Yes, you can.  It may be that the insurance company will simply increase my premium to cover you, but it depends on your experience so far.  They will need a copy of your logbook faxed over and then they’ll come back with a quote.  Usually its between £10.00 and £150.00.

Sywell is miles away from me and I would like to leave from my local.  Can you bring the plane to me?
Yes I can!  If you would like to hire the plane for a few days for a tour, then I am happy to help.  Its quite simple.  I will fly the plane to you, then you can drop me back to Sywell, whilst I carry out the familiarisation check-out ride.  Then, I’ll sign your logbook and you can fly it back to your local aerodrome.  The reverse on the way back.

Do I have to pay for the check-out ride?
Yes, I’m afraid so!  But it’s only at the dry rate, I will not charge for my time, as I am not qualified to do so.  It will take no more than 1 hour.

I already have a complex rating and have been flying an Arrow for a while.  Do I still have to have a check-out?
Yes, I’m afraid so, the insurance company insists and there are quite a few handling differences, which will need to be demonstrated.

I want to take the plane to tour the South of France and Italy.  Do you have a minimum charge?
The minimum charge is just 1 hour per day.  This is a minimum, not an addition to the hire rate.

Is there a deposit required?
Yes, there is.  The deposit is £1000 which is refundable on return.

How much fuel will I have to calculate to use?
Depending on your altitude and the setting required, you would expect to use between 12 and 16 gallons (U.S.) per hour.  If your going abroad then I suggest you aim to fill up in somewhere like Jersey, where the fuel is only 63p per litre.

Can I take myself + 5 adult passengers, full baggage capacity and full fuel?
No, the maximum all up weight is 3600lbs.  This means that you would only get 2.5 hours worth of fuel in the tanks.  Mind you, this is still 280nm + 0.5 hour reserve.  Full weight and balance graphs are available with the plane and eventually I’ll get interactive ones available on the Internet.
4 adults, full baggage capacity and full fuel is just about achievable.  This means you’ll have a range of 850nm + reserve.

Will I have to pay if I cancel or postpone
If you cancel less than 2 weeks before your intended trip then I will charge just for 1 hour.  If you cancel or postpone because of adverse weather then there will be no charge, but this must be determined on the day of intended flight.

How do I book the plane?
